About Movie Shots

This shot of the queen has many types of shots incorporated within. One type of shot is over the shoulder shot. It is taken from the frogs perspective looking at the queen. There is also a medium to close-up shot with the low angle peering up, but it is more of a close-up as there is not much head room around the Queens face.
The intention of this shot is to create the feeling of isolation and fear. This shot is made for the Queen to make her look over-powering and dominating towards the frog.
There are many things that are used in this shot to convey the meaning needed. Her facial expressions are visual clue as to what kind of character she is. Her posture and the way she holds herself. Her make-up and props are also important with her make-up being extravagant. It creates a sense of fear. Her crown is smaller then her head, which is a symbol of how much she is in love with herself, she thinks shes too good. Its symbolic of how shes not a very good queen. The shot is dark and there is colour on the queen. This sends out the message that the palace is a dark and scary place.
The camera angle in this shot is low angle. This shows how high up he is which give us some perspective. This shot is also a long wide shot, to show the setting and how small he is in comparison. The intention of this shot was to emphasize the height of the cabinet. There are many clues which lead us to the idea of the story. First of all we see him on top of the cabinet getting ready to jump off. and we see that there is a window the the wall which we know that he will jump onto. He is wearing a white lab coat which suggests that he is a professor or from a mental institute. There is a poster in  the corner which says "loose talk is noose talk" which means he is going to hang himself. Therefore we make the assumption that he is from a mental institute trying to escape.

The shot type for this shot of the mad hatter is low angle and close-up. You can tell this because it's just focusing on his head. The mad hatter make-up really emphasise what type of person he is. THe gloomy background and his clothes also have a lot to do with this shot and show that he is a powerful person.

This shot of the man is a low-angle and medium shot. It is shot from under his face but doesn't take up the whole screen which shows its a medium shot. The background is simple which brings out the man in the shot and makes the camera focus on him. The lighting also has a big part in this shot as it is kind of dark which empahises the power he has over everyone and makes him seem like a kind of bad guy. The clothes he is wearing suggests that he is from an olden day era or is some kind of luietenant maybe. The font on the door in the background also suggests that it is shot in the olden days as it is a simple type of font.
